Malaysia Tops Southeast Asian Travel Charts
Malaysia’s tourism industry has kicked off 2025 on a high, recording 10.1 million foreign visitors in the first quarter and surpassing Thailand as Southeast Asia’s most-visited destination. Boosted by easier visas, rich cultural attractions, and enhanced connectivity have fuelled this surge, with momentum set to grow as over 3,100 weekly international flights now link Malaysia to the world. AirAsia’s restart of European routes, beginning with Türkiye, and RM550 million in tourism promotion ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026 are set to further strengthen arrivals, with targets of 35.6 million visitors and RM147.1 billion in receipts.
With prime locations in both leisure hotspots and major cities, Lexis Hotel Group is poised to welcome more guests from key markets such as China, India, and South Korea — showcasing the best of Malaysia through distinctive stays and personalised service.
