Malaysia Healthcare Tourism Gains Strong Momentum in Indonesia

Malaysia’s healthcare tourism sector continues to show strong growth potential, as reflected in the encouraging response to Malaysia Fair Jakarta 2026, held from 4 to 7 June at Gandaria City. Organised under the Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026 campaign, themed “Healing Meets Hospitality”, the fair highlighted Malaysia’s appeal as a trusted destination for quality healthcare, wellness and travel.

With Indonesia remaining Malaysia’s largest healthcare travel market, the event brought together leading hospitals, specialist healthcare providers, travel agencies, education institutions and airline partners to offer visitors a seamless view of Malaysia’s
medical tourism ecosystem. In 2025, Indonesian patients generated approximately RM2.2 billion in healthcare travel revenue, with more than 970,000 seeking treatment in Malaysia.

The strong turnout reaffirmed Malaysia’s growing reputation for advanced medical expertise, compassionate care and warm hospitality across the region.
